The Enlightened
This is the story of what comes after.
Hundreds of years after a virus rampages the world, we are left with a divided society. These survivors have either developed additional brain activity allowing them to gain certain abilities, or have an immunity to the virus. Can Mara, an empathic enlightened, be the key to unifying society once and for all? Or will Krayden find her before she has the chance?
The Custodian
Alabama Macal is an average, but slightly overweight, 28-year-old woman who lands one rotten job after another. Recently she found herself in the unflattering role of custodian for a local university. Just trying to earn her paycheck, Alabama does her best to just keep her head down, but she soon realizes that keeping a low profile isn’t exactly one of her talents. She quickly finds herself immersed in one scandal after another as the University job becomes more interesting than expected.
Poignant: A poetry collection
First, thank you for choosing to read my poetry.
This collection of poems goes way back, starting in the early 2020s, with some as recent as 2025. My poems touch on some emotional topics, grief, love, family, health issues, and there are also quite a few pieces that touch on lighter subjects as well. Some that were completed just for fun.
I encourage you to read this in order, or out of order, as they do not need to be read in a certain arrangement.
I do hope they bring you joy, thoughtfulness, and maybe just a bit of relatable material.
Soul Stirring: A short story collection
First, thank you for checking out my short story collection!
This collection contains a variety of different genres of fictional short stories that were written between 2020 and 2026. There are thirteen short stories/flash fiction pieces in this collection. Two of my personal favorites include Sliver, The Grass, Insects, and Midnight Guests.
I find Sliver to be such an emotional piece that grabs at your senses from the get-go and holds on until the very end. The Grass bridges the scientific world with magical realism and truly makes me think. Insects was created based off of something that crosses my mind now and then, something that I haven’t fully decided how I feel about, but shares my wonder in a unique way. Midnight Guests is meant to be part thriller, part comedy, the comic relief holding out until the very end.
Honorable mentions include Greta and Green Tea. But I’ll let you decide what order you’d rank them in. Some are creepy, some are funny, some are wholesome, and many are emotional. Please enjoy them. Read them, and re-read them, as I often do.
